The Bones Within

  1. I love the illumination, particularly with the bones and flowers together, and the baby on the broken pelvis. This reminds me of Sweet WIlliam, who on his deathbed lay, for the love of Barbary Allan. Barbary Allan was buried in the old churchyard, Sweet William lay beside her. Out of Sweet William’s heart grew a red, red rose; out of Barbary Allan’s, a briar. We’ve been talking about growing a Sweet William garden in our old churchyard.
