On the lower image: It’s fascinating how you can take a pragmatic, workaday subject like the harbor and create such a peaceful, lovely, almost wistful study. Perhaps it’s the wispy, misty lines in the atmosphere; perhaps it’s the sepia monochrome, reminiscent of old photographs. I love the blending of the soft, watery effects in some places with the sharp lines and contrasts in others. The bulldozers in front make me think of tractors in some farm scene. Very nice!
